Yonkers Joint Sewer District SSES Rehabilitation

J. Robert Folchetti & Associates JRFA was retained by Westchester County to provide professional engineering services in the preparation and administration of a SSES and Rehabilitation project.

JRFA was responsible for the preparation of engineering documents, suitable for bidding, of those improvements within the sewers and interceptors maintained by Westchester County and located within the Yonkers Sewer District. The work involved the rehabilitation of 24" to 48" diameter County interceptor sewer, raisng to grade of 14 buried manholes, disconnection of one source, and the rehabilitation of 44 manholes. In addition to cured-in-place lining, an innovative, patented spray application of epoxy-based lining was used.

This project is broken down into five phases:

• schematic design phase
• design and development phase
• construction document phase
• bid/negotiation phase
• construction inspection phase

During the schematic design phase, JRFA provided the County with a brief report with sketches/conceptual plans to determine what construction would be included in the construction contract, based on the severity and priorities of the various work items and the County's budget.
