Lincoln Hall School
Wastewater Treatment Plant Upgrade
Lincolndale, New York
Lincoln Hall is one of the nation's largest schools for the treatment and rehabilitation of troubled or delinquent boys. The facility houses over 200 young men in nine cottages it maintains on its campus in Lincolndale, which is located in the NYC watershed.
Under the New York City Department of Environmental Protection's WWTP Upgrade Program, JRFA provided facility planning and detailed design for the complete upgrade of the existing 0.050 mgd wastewater treatment plant. The facility was designed to meet strict permit limits and included primary, secondary (biological) and tertiary (sand filtration) treatment in addition to microfiltration, phosphorous removal, disinfection, dechlorination, solids handling and telemetering.
