Increase Miller Elementary School

Under the New York City Department of Environmental Protection's WWTP Upgrade Program, JRFA is providing planning and preliminary design for the upgrade of the wastewater treatment plant at Increase Miller Elementary School. The facility is located on approximately ten acres of land in the town of Lewisboro, Westchester County, New York. The project involves a full facility upgrade utilizing microfiltration for tertiary treatment for the removal of Giardia cysts and Cryptosporidium occysts, and will include replacement of the existing disposal facilities with primary treatment units consisting of septic tanks and flow equalization, secondary treatment consisting of rotating biological contactors, final clarifiers and rapid sand filters and tertiary treatment comprised of microfiltration units, followed by chlorination, dechlorination and post aeration. Ancillary facilities for the proposed upgrade would include flow metering, sludge storage facilities, standby disinfection system, back-up power supply, a telemetry alarm system, chemical storage tanks, chemical mixing and chemical feed pumps.
