Camp Edward Isaacs
Dutchess County, New York

Under the New York City Department of Environmental Protection's WWTP Upgrade Program JRFA is providing facility planning and detailed design of the 0.012 mgd WWTP full facility upgrade, including advanced tertiary microfiltration. Microfiltration design included determining the amount of PVDF membrane required to treat secondary effluent at a flux rate of 23.3 gallons per day per square foot or less and a pore size of 0.2 microns, coordinating with vendors to alleviate problems with control philosophy, piping design and layout, feed pump sizing, backwash volume control, chemical clean in place waste storage/disposal, and operations and maintenance issues. Additional tasks included unit process sizing and design; site and building layouts; evaluation of existing facilities; utility and plumbing routing and design; vendor coordination; and coordination with major and minor engineering/architectural sub-disciplines.
