Village of Brewster Water System Improvements

Brewster Water Tank

J. Robert Folchetti & Associates was retained by the Village of Brewster to provide construction administration for extensive additions to its potable water facilities. The work was completed in 1999 through 2000. Elements of the work included the following:

   Distribution:

  • 12–inch diameter ductile iron water mains
  • Fire hydrants and service connections
  • Water pressure reducing station
  • New storm drainage piping
  • Vehicular bridge crossing of water main
  • Water main crossing of railroad tracks
  • Utility/NYSDOT/MTA coordination

Storage:

  • One million gallon prestressed concrete water storage tank
  • Automated disinfection system and control building
  • Upgrading of well pumps
  • Level controls and instrumentation to activate pumps as needed
  • Sitework, drainage facilities and roadway
